Copies of Phantasm

In this work the artist uses the mechanical construction of an iris aperture as a metaphor for the erroneous illusions on the map. The shape of the aperture refers to the human iris, where the blades rotate to adjust the light entering human’s vision and determine what can be seen, The blades are transformed into the feathers of unknown, they open and close gently on the aperture machinery, like a call from beyond, promising a distant and obscure island.
