This project interpreted the painting “Lack auf Leinwand” from Sven Drühl in Museum für Asiatische Kunst. The missing part of the canvas represents a silhouette of branches and shapes of leaves. The technique expression of keeping the shade empty, can be taken as reveal the relationship between blank space and existence of objects. In my interpretation, I’d like to show the blank poetically, the empty part has been silk screen printed with fluorescent ink on a white canvas. While a beam of light scan through the whole painting, the blank piece will illuminate for a few second and leave the trace of time.
