Illusion of the City – Taipei

In this project, I analyzed some of the primary construction projects in Taipei in recent years and collected a variety of new residential floor plans and housing prices, disassembled them into different spaces and defined the price. The viewers can get a floor plan design of a correspondingly affordable new generated space depending on the income they choose. Such floor plan does not match with any real housing but comprises multiple objects from various places, such as the living room in Shilin District, the bedroom in Wunhua District and the bathroom in Zhongshan District, in order to examine the relationships between residential space allocation, income and mortgage.
