KIN/ SHIP 3
Installation, 2022
10 x 10 x 10 cm
Glass, Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Bacterial Cellulose
KIN/SHIP3 is a cubesat containing a speculative biological sculpture, in order to explore the possibility of applying this technology to contemporary art, using the cubesat as a micro-theater and a tool for generative music and experimental video. After printing the skeleton and implanting the bacterial fibers, a layer of mycorrhizal skin was cultivated. In addition to the experimental video production, a sensing mode will be designed to generate interactive soundscapes and to photograph the biological sculptures inside the satellite and simulate their floating appearance under the change of environmental parameters and weightlessness through software.
